conforming to Baker's registered design '3230' of 1852, with two-stage 5 3/8in. barrel banded at the intersection, bead fore-sight, plain cylinder, Birmingham proofs, radiused nickel-silver boxlock action with milled edge to the nipple-shield, borderline and scroll engraving to the action body, back-strap and pommel, the top of action marked 'REGISTERED APRIL 24, 1852', cranked hammer marked 'BAKER'S PATENT on the left hand side, sighting notch to the centre and provision for hammer-spur (broken off, absent), sliding side safety and smooth walnut grips
